Sermon Audio

The angels at Bethlehem hailed the newborn Prince of Peace singing, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Jesus is our only hope for lasting peace, but his peace is nothing like the avoidance of conflict. Since the peace of Christ is not reserved for the privileged few, Jesus readily engaged in conflict with those whose lives and religion treated others unfairly, making it impossible for marginalized people to find peace. For us to be peacemakers like Jesus, we may have to pick a few fights for the sake of those who are treated unfairly.
