Many worry that our planet is at a near critical point of environmental collapse and that our country is so polarized we may not be able to pull it back together. Many worry that their relationships are unraveling, that they won’t have enough money when they’re older or that they can’t afford insurance to protect themselves and their families. And then one more thing to worry about is that our confounded church is on the cusp of buying our first building and moving to a new neighborhood.
There is plenty to worry about; not all our fears are just “in our head”. But then, there’s God. Not God as an anti-anxiety pill to swallow but the very Presence who is with us every step of the way on life’s often perilous journey. Because God is so confident that we will make it with God’s help, the Lord looks us straight in the eyes and says, “Be strong and courageous”!
